Melanie Gonzalez started an early performance career in Musical theater/Acting at the age of 4 in the greater Los Angeles area. Her first stage production in Hollywood Barnsdale park Theater was “Gypsy” where she performed the role of Baby June. She went on to appear tv work on 70’s and 80’s sitcoms and dramas.

 

She landed her first professional Equity show in the original LA cast of “Evita” at the Shubert Theater, directed by Tony award wining Harold Prince for 3 years. Melanie went on to perform in various productions as Sarah in “Guys and Dolls” and Kate in “Pirates of Penzance.” Also a graduate from American Center for Musical Theater directed by Paul Gleason at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. She took further interest in the studying the art of the voice and studied under the teaching of well known Opera coaches Esther Andreas (Metropolitan opera coach) and Heinz Blankenberg, (German Baritone and Director) developing  into a lyric soprano and became active in classical/opera singing. She performed in her first operatic soprano lead as Euridice in Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice” (French) and Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” (Italian) as Susanna.

 

Melanie has also developed her own vocal studio where she teaches classical/musical theater and contemporary technique for the last 15 years. She loves sharing her passion of singing and helping others of all ages and all backgrounds, discover their vocal potential in the vocal arts and in all aspects of the performing arts. She also continues to perform with the Temecula Valley Symphony as a classical soloist and with the Symphony chorus.
