BASICS OF IMPROV

N-PAC is honored to welcome renowned acting instructor Loretta Fox, who will be teaching a Kids' Basics of  Improv Workshop in September.   For kids interested in acting professionally, or just looking to improve speaking skills and confidence.

 

Loretta Fox is an improvisation instructor and private acting/performance coach in Los Angeles.  She has been teaching improv at “Lisa Picotte’s Young Actor’s Workshop” for 2 ½ years, where her students range in age from 5-18. 

 

Loretta has been an actor for 25 years, on both stage and screen.  She recently wrapped a recurring guest role on “Sharp Objects” starring Amy Adams for HBO. Other recent TV credits include “The Middle”, “My Crazy Ex Girlfriend”, “Community”, “New Girl”, “The Birthday Boys” and “Parks and Rec.”  Recent Web series include “Where The Bears Are”, “The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo” and “Erica and Elray”.

 

Loretta’s 14 yr. old son, Daniel DiMaggio, is also an actor and has been working professionally since he was 8. Daniel is a series regular on the ABC ½ hr. comedy “American Housewife”.

Loretta is also an essayist and has shared her stories on LA stages in shows such as “Strong Words”, “Tell It, Sit n Spin” and “Expressing Motherhood”. She can be seen in the upcoming documentary, “Where Have you Gone Lou Dimaggio?”, where she  plays herself as the wife of a man who has decided to go back into stand-up comedy after 20 years away from the craft.
